ANSI Class 1

• For jobs where traffic is traveling at or below 25 mph
• Must be either safety yellow or safety orange
• Minimum of 155 square inches of reflective tape
• Examples: Sidewalk repair in a small residential neighborhood

ANSI Class 2

• For jobs where traffic is moving under 50 mph
• Minimum of 775 inches of safety yellow or safety orange background material and 201 square inches of reflective striping
• Examples: Survey crews, airport baggage handlers, school crossing guards

ANSI Class 3

• For jobs where traffic is traveling over 50 mph or in conditions where visibility is at a minimum
• Minimum of 1,240 inches of safety yellow or safety orange background and 310 square inches of reflective striping
